Sex Therapy
Sex can be an important part of our relationships, identity, and sense of ourselves, but sexual concerns can also be difficult to talk about. Therapy can provide a space to discuss those concerns openly, without judgment or assumptions about what your sex life should look like.
I provide sex therapy for individuals, couples, and LGBTQ+ clients in San Francisco. I have specialized training in human sexuality and hold a Sex-Informed Therapist Certification from the Modern Sex Therapy Institute. I also spent three years at Rouse Relational Wellness in the Castro, where I received supervision and consultation around sexual issues to further my training.
My broader clinical approach is primarily humanistic, incorporating emotion-focused and existential perspectives as appropriate. These styles help create a space where you feel seen as a whole person, and build greater understanding around your sexual life and identity.
What Can Sex Therapy Help With?
We may explore various common concerns including:
Sexual or performance anxiety
Desire and arousal
Men's sexual health
Sexual confidence
Sexual identity and orientation
Communication about sex
Intimacy and connection
Sexual shame
Sexual trauma and healing
Kink and diverse sexual interests
Open relationships and non-monogamy
Sex therapy can also be useful when there isn't a specific sexual problem. Sometimes people simply want a place to better understand their sexuality, desires, relationships, or the role sex plays in their lives.
